Welcome to Forty Second, a luxury stay in the heart of Historic Forest Park.

CHECKING IN

Our check-in time is at 3:00 pm, but if you need to arrive earlier, please email us in advance and we will do our best to accommodate you.

CHECKING OUT

Check-out is at 11am, but if you need more time, feel free to let us know a week prior to your check-out and we’ll see what we can do.

BED SIZES

Our two individual bedrooms each offer a king size hybrid mattress with casper pillows.

BATH

To preserve our historical bathroom, we have a reglazed cast iron tub with the original faucets and a fixed shower head. The bathroom is shared by a vestibule connecting the bedrooms.

PARKING

We offer street parking in front of the apartment as well as parking behind via alley access.

SMOKING

Smoking of any kind is strictly prohibited inside the apartment and screened-in porch. If you choose to smoke while in house, please expect a minimum fine of $500 (and our deepest disappointment).

GATHERINGS

We offer a fully equipped kitchen and encourage dinner parties on our custom plaster table designed and built by McKenzie Dove. However, we do ask you request ahead of time to entertain a party of more than four guests.

PHOTOGRAPHY & VIDEOGRAPHY

Photograph the apartment as much as you would like and feel free to tag @stayat42nd. Videography is strictly prohibited and subject to a fine unless a request is approved in advance.

FORGET SOMETHING?

We also have plenty of extras available for you to use during your visit. Extra luggage rack? Umbrella? Extra pillows? Lighted makeup mirror? Coffee maker? Iron and ironing board? ACCESSIBLITY

Unfortunately our downstairs apartment is not ADA compliant as it still has several steps to access the front and back entrances.

DO YOU ALLOW PETS?

We strictly prohibit pets to ensure the preservation of our apartment and consideration for future guests with allergies.

HOW DO I RESERVE AN EXTENDED STAY?

We offer extended stays at a discounted rate if there is availability.

NEIGHBORHOOD

Historic Forest Park is a charming, safe neighborhood known for its architecture, landscape and central location. Our apartment is within walking distance to Clairmont where you can get a morning coffee and pastry from General or grab a cocktail and dinner at Juniper or Red or White. Five minutes to downtown Birmingham and five minutes to Crestline Village or English Village.
